Evan Roberts and the 1904–05 Revival
The Revival of 1904–05 was the last great religious revival seen in Wales. It began in New Quay, Ceredigion in February 1904 when Florrie Evans leapt to her feet and proclaimed that she ‘loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart’. Although the Revival lasted barely a year, its effect on the society of the time was profound. Evan Roberts, a key figure in the Revival, died in 1951.
