David Jones (1895–1974)
David Jones was one of Wales’ most notable authors and artists. The biggest influences on his work were his Catholic faith and his experiences during the First World War. In 1937 he published In Parenthesis, which is regarded as one of the greatest pieces of English poetry about the First World War. His library, archive and numerous works of art are kept at the Library.
