Joseph Parry: Blodwen

A manuscript copy of the score for Joseph Parry’s famous opera, ‘Blodwen’, composed in 1878. The first Welsh opera, it records the courtship of Hywel and Blodwen. This was his most successful opera, and it was performed many times towards the end of the 19th century. Here we see the opening of the famous duet, which remains popular to this day.
