Ann Griffiths (1776–1805)

Ann Griffiths is considered one of Europe’s most important religious poets. She was born at Dolwar Fach farm in Montgomeryshire. During the religious revival of the 1790s Ann joined the Methodist society at Pontrobert and began composing various verses and hymns. Her hymns were very private works, a type of personal diary, recording her spiritual experiences and perceptions. The Library acquired a manuscript that once belonged to Ann Griffiths in 1922.
