The Drover
The drover was a valuable carrier of information, news and goods between England and Wales. When travelling to and from markets with his animals he was often at risk of robbery from highwaymen. As a result banks were established to provide financial security for drovers and allay the fears of farmers. These banks issued notes unique to Wales.
